Membership in the Utah Democratic Lawyers Council

Come join us and make a real difference in Utah government. We need your help to achieve our vision: to develop and maintain a balanced political environment in our great State. We all know — and even our Republican-dominated legislature would agree upon thoughtful reflection — that a true democracy requires multiple points of view. Solutions to complex problems are much better for our communities and our State when political balance exists. Severe political imbalance — as is presently the case in the Utah legislature — often results in poor legislation and de-prioritizes social problems. The dominant party becomes insensitive to those with opposing views (remember HB 477 and the GRAMA debacle!), and fails to engage in substantive and productive discussion and compromise.

So it is time to stop deliberating about what to do and start taking actions to make Utah a better, more balanced community. Joining is easy. Simply pay the annual membership fee, which entitles you to certain benefits, depending on the membership level. More importantly, join one of our committees to help change Utah’s political landscape. And you needn’t stop there. Find an elected office at the State or local level, and embark upon your own campaign! Then you can maximize your effect on Utah politics.

Individual Members

Associate

1 billable hour/minimum of $100 ($8.33/month). Member will receive:

  • Notification of events (which includes CLE, informative lunches, political gatherings and the like)
  • Updates on political issues and activities via e-mail
  • Name listed on UDLC’s website (at member’s option)

Partner

$500 ($41.66 per month). Member will receive:

  • Notification of events
  • Updates on political issues and activities via e-mail
  • Name listed on UDLC’s website (at member’s option)
  • Entry to certain UDLC events for free

Patron

$1,000 ($83.33 per month). Member will receive:

  • Notification of events
  • Updates on political issues and activities via eMail
  • Name listed on UDLC’s website (at member’s option)
  • Entry to certain UDLC events for free
  • Small group meetings with special guests at UDLC events
  • Membership on UDLC Committee of your choice (at member’s option)
  • Discounted admission for certain Utah Democratic Party events

$2,500. Sponsor benefits:

  • 6 attorneys designated by Sponsor may participate at the Partner level or 3 at the Patron level
  • At option of Sponsor, logo on UDLC’s website
  • Special mention by President of UDLC at each UDLC event
